Hiro begins his journey into the past with the help of the mysterious man from Africa.  He learns of events leading to Sylar's murder spree with the aid of Mr Bennet and Elle.  He also learns of Arthur Petrelli and how he was truly the brains behind Linderman and how he manipulated his wife Angela when she found out about his attempting to have Nathan killed.  He also learns of Meredith's involvement with the company around the time that Claire is learning of her powers and her partnership with Thompson.  When Hiro comes to, he learns that his helper on this journey has been killed by Arthur and Hiro may be next.
