Diver James McGregor is used to exploring sunken ships.  But there's something strange about the wreck of the Grave Descend.  No one aboard tells quite the same story about what happened.  Then there's the mysterious cargo they were carrying...

In one of the most beautiful places on Earth, a sinister plot is about to unfold.  And if McGregor's not careful, he may find himself in over his head.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Michael Crichton
was a writer and filmmaker, best known as the author of Jurassic Park and the creator of ER.  One of the most pdpular entertainers in the world, Crichton sold more than 200 million copies of his books which have been translated into 40 languages and adapted into 15 films.  Long before the carefully researched techno-thrillers that ultimately brought him to fame, Crichton wrote high-octane suspense novels to support himself while studying at Harvard Medical School.  He published eight of these books under the pseudonym John Lange between the years of 1966 and 1972.  They provided him with the means to complete his education.  He graduated at the top of his class.

  • I try to maintain page numbers for audiobooks even though obviously there aren't any. I do this to keep track of pages read and I try to use the Kindle version page numbers for this.
  • Synopses marked with an asterisk (*) were generated by an AI. There aren't a lot since this is an iffy way to do it - AI seems to make stuff up.
  • When specific publication dates are unknown (ie prefixed with a "Cir"), I try to get the publication date that is closest to the specific printing that I can.
  • When listing chapters, I only list chapters relevant to the story. I will usually leave off Author Notes, Indices, Acknowledgements, etc unless they are relevant to the story or the book is non-fiction.
  • Page numbers on this site are for the end of the main story. I normally do not include appendices, extra material, and other miscellaneous stuff at the end of the book in the page count.

See my goodreads icon goodreads page. I almost never do reviews, but I use this site to catalogue books.
See my librarything icon librarything page. I use this site to catalogue books and it has more details on books than goodreads does.
