This book is dedicated to my Grandmother Ethel Daugherty, my parents, Kit and Bob Gingrich, my Aunt Loma and Uncle Cal Troutman and to Callista's parents, Alphonse and Bernita Bisek, because they taught us that God is central to our lives and to the meaning of being an American.

I heard about this book on the radio and decided to pick up a copy.  I've always likes Newt politics even though his personal life leaves a bit to be desired.

THE NEXT TIME SOMEONE SAYS THAT
GOD DOESN'T BELONG
IN THE PUBLIC SQUARE...

STROLL through Washington, D.C., with Newt Gingrich to view the significant monuments, memorials, and documents found in our nation's capital, and you will quickly find yourself on a profound and surprising walk of discovery and renewal.

Your first stop will be the National Archives, where Thomas Jefferson's immortal words from the Declaration of Independance that all "are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights," jump off the page with the inescapable truth that from day one in our country's history, the author of freedom was neither the state nor even the Founding Fathers.

Building on the message from his bestselling book, Winning the Future, Gingrish sounds a clarion call for us to rediscover that America's greatness is firmly rooted in out ongoing history as a nation under God.

Front Flap:
An Invitation

REdiscovering God in America is my invitation for you to join me on a walk through America's capital city, Washington, D.C.

The walking tour is not just a look at the architecture and beauty of our nation's capital; it is a tour of American history, of the great men and women, the great events, the great documents and great institutions, the great ideas - all shaped decisively by the genuine belief that we are a nation under God - that are at the heart of our freedom as Americans and our identity as a people.

The next time a friend or colleague says that religeous expression has no place in the public square and the discussion of God has no place in our children's history and government classes, you will only need to tell them about what you experienced on this simple walk to remind them of God's role in America's history - and America's future.

Your friend,
Newt Gingrich

Back Flap:

  • I try to maintain page numbers for audiobooks even though obviously there aren't any. I do this to keep track of pages read and I try to use the Kindle version page numbers for this.
  • Synopses marked with an asterisk (*) were generated by an AI. There aren't a lot since this is an iffy way to do it - AI seems to make stuff up.
  • When specific publication dates are unknown (ie prefixed with a "Cir"), I try to get the publication date that is closest to the specific printing that I can.
  • When listing chapters, I only list chapters relevant to the story. I will usually leave off Author Notes, Indices, Acknowledgements, etc unless they are relevant to the story or the book is non-fiction.
  • Page numbers on this site are for the end of the main story. I normally do not include appendices, extra material, and other miscellaneous stuff at the end of the book in the page count.
