New Mexico State, when he played there, was known as New Mexico A&M.

He was an assistant coach at Lac Cruces HS in New Mexico from 1958 to 1964.  He moved to Mayfield HS from 1965 to 1972.  He went back to high school at Roswell from 1980 until 1993 and then back at Mayfield HS from 1994 until 2005.
