Named Ernest Duncan Allen Jr. He coached at Simon Fraser University from 1968 to 1976 as an assistant and eventually co-head coach. He coached D Backs at Montana from 1977 to 1979 and became the defencive coordinator for Eastern Washington University from 1980 to 1981. He was also the head coach at Portland State from 1986 until 1992.
