Ayeka Masaki Jurai

Ayeka is a princess of Jurai.  Her father is Azusa and her mother is Misaki.  She was betrothed to her half brother Yosho when the space pirate Ryoko attacked her home planet of Jurai.  Yosho left Jurai to defeat Ryoko and later Ayeka went to find her brother when he disappeared.

After 700 years, she found traces of Ryoko's power on Earth and, even though the statute of limitations on her crimes expired, was bent on capturing her and determining the whereabouts of her brother.  During the battle with Ryoko her ship Ryo-Oh was destroyed and she was trapped on the Earth.  This is the same in both the OVA and television versions except that the method is different.  In the OVA, Ryoko forces them both down, whereas in the television show, Ayeka is the one that crashes the two ships into Earth.

Ayeka travels with two guardians, Azaka and Kamidake.  She has powers that enable her to create force fields.  These are usually shown as manifestations of small wooden logs that can extrude tentacles to attack, form force barriers and use force barriers in offensive "shoves".
