Now that the Gamelans are suspicious of the area in which the Yamato is located, Captain Avatar wishes to take off at once for their journey to Iscandar. Mark Venture and Derek Wildstar are summoned at once. IQ-9 and Doctor Sane tag along. The ground car takes them to the underground base just below the Battleship Yamato.

Wildstar, Venture and Doctor Sane are taken by elevator into the Yamato's bridge where they meet Captain Avatar and Nova. Captain Avatar tells them that they are being recruited for a dangerous mission and would like them on board. Their new crew of the best the Earth has to offer will be called the Star Force.

The Gamelans attack on force on the Yamato and Wildstar and Venture are put to a "baptism of fire" as they finally get power to the engines and get the Yamato off the ground.

The Yamato trains all of the shock cannons on the carrier and prepares to fire. They destroy the carrier. Before the carrier blows up they report that the area they were attacking was not an underground city as they had thought but instead a battleship.

The scene shifts to Gamelan where Leader Desslok talks to his three brightest generals about the Earth defense.

Captain Avatar goes into a little history of the Yamato and how Earthly wars ceased when the Gamelans became a threat. He also explains about the Cosmo DNA and Iscandar.
