Back at school, Kyoichi wonders about the outburst of classmate Shoko when the teacher takes her music player.  He later hooks up with her and she tells him that she is going to try out for the band SAIL as the lead singer.  She talks Kyoichi into helping her get her player back.  After this they start hanging out together and people start talking that they are dating.  Shoko confides in Kyoichi that she's shy and ends up telling him she won't try out after all.  After Kyoichi stands her up one night, they eventually meet up and she tells him she'll try out after all.  The next day she's dropped out of school.
