The Spiral King allows Adiane to go for vengeance against Die Gurren.  Simon is in a funk due to his brother's death and tensions are high.  He causes his gunman to go haywire and falls into a crevasse where he finds a box that uses the same kind of key that his gunman does.  He opens the box and finds a girl inside named Nia.
