The task force has now moved into a permanent location with Light chained to L and Misa living in the building under management by Matsuda.  Light finds links with the new Kira to the Yotsuba corporation when they begin gaining from competitor’s deaths.  The new Kira, not concentrating solely on criminals, threatens politicians and so the police are taken off the case.  Each of the remaining police are forced to either quit the task force or the police in to order continue their investigations.
