WHEELWORLD

Branded a rebel and traitor, Jan Kulozik was exiled by Earth's oppressive masters to serve as engineer to the agricultural colony world of Halvmork.  Here, on this harsh, unforgiving planet turning slowly from endless day to endless night, Jan found tens of thousands of people working as virtual slaves to feed earth's millions, under the brutal rule of a handful of powerful families.

Then the lifeline to Earth was cut, and Halvmork was plunged into chaos.  Jan Kulozik rallied the people for their own survival, setting out on a perilous trek beset by treachery, sabotage and the fury of nature, to lead the people of Wheelworld to their new destiny.

TO THE STARS

HARRY HARRISON, author of West of Eden and Make Room, Make Room , is one of science fiction's most popular and widely read authors.  To the Stars is his epic saga of mankind's struggle to regain its freedom and reclaim the stars.

"TO THE STARS is hard-driving adventure with highly inventive off-Earth effects."
- Theodore Sturgeon, The Twilight Zone Magazine

"A new Harry Harrison trilogy is news; a great new Harry Harrison trilogy is worth its weight in gold."
- C.J. Henderson, Questar

From "About the Author" from Wheel-World:

HARRY HARRISON, one of the most prolific and successful science fiction writers, worked as a commercial artist, art director and editor, before settling on a career as a freelance writer.  A past president of the World Science Fiction Writers' Association, Mr. Harrison was born in Connecticut and has lived in various European countries over the years.  A recipient of numerous awards and honors, his Stainless Steel Rat books are as well known as they are humorous.  His other books include Deathworld, Deathworld 2 and Make Room, Make Room, his anti-utopian novel on which the movie Soylent Green was based.  Harry Harrison now lives in Ireland.

  • I try to maintain page numbers for audiobooks even though obviously there aren't any. I do this to keep track of pages read and I try to use the Kindle version page numbers for this.
  • Synopses marked with an asterisk (*) were generated by an AI. There aren't a lot since this is an iffy way to do it - AI seems to make stuff up.
  • When specific publication dates are unknown (ie prefixed with a "Cir"), I try to get the publication date that is closest to the specific printing that I can.
  • When listing chapters, I only list chapters relevant to the story. I will usually leave off Author Notes, Indices, Acknowledgements, etc unless they are relevant to the story or the book is non-fiction.
  • Page numbers on this site are for the end of the main story. I normally do not include appendices, extra material, and other miscellaneous stuff at the end of the book in the page count.

See my librarything icon librarything page. I use this site to catalogue books and it has more details on books than goodreads does.
