Coached at Ricks College in Utah (later to become Brigham Young University or BYU) from 1989 to 1991. In 1994 he coached at Park City High School in Utah. He was the defensive line and assistant head coach at Northern Arizona from 1995 to 1996. He became the head coach at Southern Utah in 2003.
