Recap

AP Recap

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- Jason White threw for 383 yards and three touchdowns to help No. 2 Oklahoma rout Nebraska 30-3 on Saturday night.

With star running back Adrian Peterson seeing little action because of a shoulder injury, White completed 29-of-35 passes. After throwing three incomplete passes on his first eight attempts, the sixth-year senior completed a school-record 18 in a row in his final home game for the Sooners (10-0, 7-0 Big 12).

Among the passes were a high lob that backup tight end Willie Roberts caught while backpedaling and leaping in the back right corner of the end zone and a 58-yard launch that Mark Bradley caught over his shoulder in stride down the right sideline.

White also had 4-yard scoring pass to a sliding Brandon Jones and a 23-yard touchdown pass to Bradley on a quick pass at the line of scrimmage that Bradley took and tiptoed down the sideline to score.

Nebraska's David Dyches kicked a 39-yard field goal as time expired to break the shutout.

Peterson, who entered the game as the fifth-leading rusher in the nation, played only sparingly in the first half after dislocating his left shoulder in Oklahoma's win against Texas A&M last week. The talented freshman had built a case for the Heisman Trophy after rushing for 1,373 yards in the Sooners' first nine games, but this game could hurt that bid.

Peterson was in uniform and helmet but did not start and had only three carries for 2 yards in the first half. He also served as a decoy entering the game for a play-action pass that went for a touchdown in the second quarter.

Peterson played on every drive in the second half and finished with 58 yards on 15 carries -- his fewest of the season. He had at least 100 yards rushing in each of his first nine games.

Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops said earlier in the week Peterson would be "ready to go," but Kejuan Jones got the start and most of the rushing load early.

Cory Ross was the only bright spot for the Cornhuskers (5-5, 3-4) with 30 yards on 130 carries before leaving the game midway through the fourth quarter with an injury. Nebraska didn't get past the Oklahoma 49 until the fourth quarter, when a six-minute, 14-play drive ended with an incomplete pass by Joe Dailey on fourth-and-5 from the 6.

Dailey was 8-for-12 with 73 yards and an interception.

Oklahoma used a little trickery to take advantage of the Cornhuskers' only turnover and pull ahead 16-0. Following Gayron Allen's interception of Joe Dailey's pass, receiver Mark Bradley threw a 30-yard pass to Mark Clayton at the 1. Kejuan Jones punched it in for a touchdown on the next play. Jones finished with 48 yards on 14 carries.

Trey DiCarlo made a 32-yard field goal in the first quarter for Oklahoma's first score. He missed a 34-yard field-goal try wide left early in the fourth quarter.
