Recap
AP Recap
WACO, Texas – No. 13/18/18 Baylor (8-2, 5-2 Big 12) topped No. 8/4/4 Oklahoma (9-1, 6-1) 27-14 for the first time in eight meetings Saturday afternoon at McLane Stadium.
The Sooners held the nation's longest winning streak heading into the contest, which had stood at 17 games, and had not lost to the Bears since 2014.
OU contained the Baylor offense for most of the contest and forced two turnovers.
Oklahoma opened the second quarter with a 2-yard touchdown run by Caleb Williams after both teams were held scoreless through the first 15 minutes. Delarrin Turner-Yell hauled in an interception on the second play of the quarter to set up the OU touchdown drive.
The Bears responded with a touchdown of their own with under five minutes remaining in the half, and took a 10-7 lead with a field goal on its first possession of the second half.
Baylor scored a pair of rushing touchdowns in the fourth quarter before Williams marched the OU offense 75 yards in 1:31 to narrow the BU lead to 24-14. The Sooners scored on a 1-yard run by Kennedy Brooks. It was Brooks' 10th rushing touchdown of the season. He finished the game with 51 yards on 13 carries.
Williams completed 10 of 19 passes for 146 yards and rushed 10 times for 17 yards and a score in the game. Spencer Rattler came in for two series and completed 4 of 6 passes for 36 yards.
Brian Asamoah led the OU defense with 10 tackles and one forced fumble. His 10 stops and 1.5 tackles for loss were both season highs. The fumble was recovered by Nik Bonitto. Both of Bonitto's tackles in the game (1.5 TFLs) went for loss.
